For the month of March, Taize Prayer for Peace will take place on a special day and time on March 9 from 7:00– 7:30 p.m., at Queen of Peace Chapel in Doran Hall, 441 Mt. Thor Road, Greensburg, PA. This special prayer service will close the sisters’ activity with youth, “Puppets, Prayer, and Pizza” which will be held at the Doran Hall Activity Room, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. This activity is held in conjunction with National Catholic Sisters Week. Sisters and youth will be making hand puppets for special needs children in Ecuador and sharing pizza and hoagies before the Taize prayer service.
The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill normally invite the public to join them the first Tuesday of each month for an evening of Taize Prayer for Peace at the Queen of Peace Chapel. Taize prayer is a simple but powerful prayer form that takes place in an evening candlelight setting. The prayer begins with the singing of soft, repetitive antiphons set to beautiful melody lines of elegant simplicity. The exquisite harmonies of the repetitive chants are interspersed with periods of silence, meditation, and prayers of praise and intercession. The rich worship experience of the Taize services will provide a wonderful opportunity for the community to unite hearts and hopes in prayer for peace.
