Sister Regina Marie Boslet, SC
April 5, 1934 – December 30, 2022

SISTER REGINA MARIE BOSLET, age 88, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill on December 30, 2022, in the 70th year of her religious life.
Born in Altoona, PA, Sister Regina Marie entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1952, from Saint Leo Parish, Altoona. Preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Edna (Hill), three brothers, Clair, Joseph, Bernard, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Jane (Carl) Fraundorfer; she is survived by nieces and nephews and her religious community.
Sister Regina Marie earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Seton Hill University; a master’s degree in administration from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in liturgy from the University of Notre Dame. She began her ministry teaching students in schools of Altoona-Johnstown, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Tucson dioceses, and the Archdiocese of Washington. From 1964 to 1969, she was the principal of Saint John School in Tucson, and from 1969 to 1977, she served as principal of Saint Theresa School in Phoenix. She then began ministering as the parish liturgy coordinator at Saint Theresa Parish.
Sister Regina Marie was a resident chaplain at Good Samaritan Medical Center in 1989, as part of her training in the clinical pastoral education program. From 1990 to 1995, inspired by the Catholic social teaching, acknowledging the God-given dignity of each human being, she was the executive director of Malta Center in Phoenix for persons living with AIDS where she advocated for just programs. Sister Regina Marie, her staff, and volunteers cared for 1,000 individuals during her five-year ministry at the Malta Center. She was the recipient of the Cross of Honor for HIV/AIDS ministry presented by the Order of Malta (Western Association of Malta) for her dedicated ministry.
In 1995, she was assigned the position of pastoral minister-chaplain at Mt. Claret Diocesan Retreat Center in Phoenix, AZ where she later became the associate director. She then became the coordinator of the RENEW Program at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Scottsdale, AZ a position she held until 2012 when she retired at Caritas Christi. The Sisters of Charity are grateful for the caring staff who attended to Sister Regina Marie when she needed assistance.
When Sister Regina Marie reflected on her life as a Sister of Charity she said, “I have come to realize and appreciate, in a new way, what it means to be a ‘Beatitude Person,’ living out my commitment as a Sister of Charity, in community, to serve the poor and those in greatest need.”
Of her work with people living with AIDS, Sister Regina Marie stated, “For me, working with God’s poor and rejected people is the heart of my life. They have taught me infinitely more about the qualities of love and life than I could ever give them. My ministry is what energizes me.”
Rest in peace, Sister Regina Marie, as you join our Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and the Company of Charity.
