Two Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill honored by Seton Hill University

Two Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill were recently honored by Seton Hill University.
On Thursday, June 6, Sister Mary Helen Meyer received the Catholic Education Excellence in Teaching Award, along with five other teachers of excellence. After a 70 year teaching ministry, she expressed gratitude for the students who had enriched her life, and she hoped at the same time “they had been brought a little closer to God.” Through her teaching, primarily of the sciences, Sister Mary Helen strove to give an example of the beauty and wonder of her calling.
Sister Mary Ann Winters was named as one of Seton Hill’s Distinguished Alumni. Her Leadership Award was presented on Saturday, June 8. Sister Mary Ann and eleven other alumnae were honored for their achievements and leadership. Cited for her leadership at the University, within the congregation, and in the Diocese of Phoenix, Sister Mary Ann expressed gratitude for “the legacy of Elizabeth Seton through our life together” in community and in the university
