At the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill

The Archives of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill has as its mission the documentation of the history and charism of the congregation in relation to Membership, Founders and Patrons, Community Life, Governance and Administration, Temporalities, Apostolic Ministries, Education, Evangelization, Health Care, Social Service, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education and Diversified Ministries.

The Archives preserve records of the Congregation, contributing to the history of the Church in the United States, particularly in dioceses where the Sisters of Charity serve or have served. They also document the history of women religious in the United States, the history of the Church in countries such as Korea, China, Ecuador, and Israel, as well as local history in Pennsylvania, where the congregation’s motherhouse is located, and in other places where the Sisters of Charity reside and serve.
