Prayer
Finding Peace Together in Prayer“We must pray literally without ceasing…in every occurrence of our life—you know, I mean that prayer of the heart which is independent of place or situation. It is a habit of lifting the heart to God, as in a constant communication with Him.”
God calls us to a life of prayer that gives witness to the gospel concept of life and union with Christ and the church. Prayer and the remembrance of God’s presence animate all we are called to do. Prayer lets us see God present in ourselves, others, and the world.
We are called to participate daily in the Eucharistic celebration and respond to Jesus’ call to be Eucharist for others. We give a special place to the liturgy of the hours and pray in common the morning and evening prayers of the church. We are encouraged to use creativity to celebrate the liturgy of the hours daily. We engage in faith sharing, centering prayer, and a discernment process that combines reflection, prayer, dialogue, and Scripture.
Each day, we pray for the intentions of our congregation, for each sister on her death anniversary, for our benefactors, for the world, for those who have requested our prayers, and for peace and justice intentions.

Taize Prayer for Peace
Taize prayer is a beautiful and peaceful form of prayer that takes place in the evening by candlelight. The prayer starts with singing soft and repetitive antiphons with elegant and simple melodies. The repetitive chants are accompanied by periods of silence, meditation, and prayers of praise and intercession. This rich worship experience of Taize services provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and pray for peace, uniting their hearts and hopes.
You are welcome to join us on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Assumption, Caritas Christi, 129 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg.
