Listen to God's Call

How Are You Serving God?

God calls each person to a personal vocation in marriage, religious life, priesthood, and the single life, which will bring true happiness to themselves and others if they live faithfully and generously in following God’s call.

Postulancy, novitiate, and temporary profession

These are each formal periods of time during “initial formation” – the years leading up to the final profession (also called final vows). These time periods involve study, ministry, and community life experiences to allow the person and the community to discern if the person should be part of the particular religious community for a lifetime commitment.

Is God Calling You?

God may be inviting you to a vowed consecrated religious life by serving God and God’s people, and now is the time to begin your meaningful journey if you:

  • feel attracted to deepen your relationship with God.
  • wish to commit to serving God through a life of service, prayer and community life.
  • are drawn to the spirit of a particular congregation.
  • want to be a part of the changes in …….the future needs of the Church and the world.

Permit Us to Discuss the Future with You

Questions about God, faith, vowed consecrated life, where God may be leading you, etc.

In-person or virtual visiting with our Coordinator of Vocation Ministries, Sister Barbara Ann Smelko, 724-836-0406 x6622 or basmelko@scsh.org

Remember, religious formation takes years to complete, and each step will help you better understand and respond to God’s grace.

Please be assured of our prayers. We want to support you. Let us know how.
