Discipleship through Prayer and Service in the Spirit of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Vincent DePaul, and St. Louise de Marillac

The United States Province of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill responded to Vatican II mandates, which strongly supported the inclusion of laywomen and men in their ongoing desire to search for and grow in the spirituality of living as faithful and fruitful members of the Body of Christ. The Seton Family is a way of encouraging and fostering its members to respond to Jesus’ call to discipleship through prayer and service.

Within the Seton Family, members gather to pray and reflect on the lives, works, and spirit of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Vincent DePaul, and St. Louise de Marillac, whose lives provide us with examples of the manner in which they might grow closer to Jesus and live out their faith-filled lives with insight, energy, and care for others.

Being a Part of Seton Family

Seton Family values support members in:

Learning – exploring topics that prepare us for active, conscious participation in Christian life and deepen our understanding of the Word of God.

Prayer– seeking the heart of God who dwells in the deepest part of us, into solidarity with all in need of God’s love and compassion.

Community – building a bond among us that supports and encourages us in bringing faith “front and center” in our lives.

Apostolic Spirit – seeing life as a ministry, a gift of self to others as God works through us to be Good News in their lives as well as in our own.
