The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill announced the opening of the new Elizabeth Seton Memory Care Center, located in a first-floor wing of Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, 129 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg. The licensed personal care home specializes in secured memory care for women. The grand opening of the center took place on May 1, 2015
“Many families have need of a safe and compassionate environment to be a home for a loved one with a memory impairment,” said Sister Catherine Meinert, Provincial Superior/President of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, United States Province. “We are pleased to announce that this new ministry has been launched. Elizabeth Seton Memory Care Center will provide compassionate care that maintains each resident’s dignity and maximizes her personal potential and quality of life.”
The secure wing housing the Elizabeth Seton Memory Care Center was specifically designed to serve the needs of individuals with memory loss. The center offers a spacious common area that accommodates recreation, dining, activities, and family visits. The 12-unit wing offers private bedrooms and wheel-chair accessible facilities. Residents will enjoy an enclosed outdoor garden and patio environment on the beautiful setting of the Sisters of Charity complex. In addition, residents will be offered socialization, prayer, and worship opportunities with the Sisters of Charity in residence at Caritas Christi. A dedicated nursing and direct care staff will provide round-the-clock care and supervision.
